The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations would like to state that it has formally requested the Secretary-General of the United Nations to bring to the attention of the Security Council the matter of the heinous plot to assassinate the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the United States of America. The Mission reiterates that the attempted plot is a violation of international laws, United Nations resolutions, and all conventions and norms of humanity. All those who are involved in this outrageous attempt should be brought to justice.

[New York, New York] — Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Abdallah Y. Al- Mouallimi, along with the Saudi Consul General, Azzam A. Al Gain hosted a reception at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel celebrating the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Saudi state in 1932. Guests included U.N Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, Foreign Ministers, Government officials, the diplomatic corps, Mission and Consulate staff and members of the Saudi community in New York and New Jersey.

Ambassador Al-Mouallimi extended his congratulations to all Saudis. "We

celebrate", he stated, "a special day for a country that has leaped to become

an important decision-maker in the international arena".

- Saudi Arabia Under Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Relations, HH Prince Torki bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer.

New Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia Presents Credential Print E-mail

The new Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, HE. Abdallah Y. al-Mouallimi, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

 

Before his latest appointment, HE. Al-Mouallimi was Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union from 2007.  He was the Mayor of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s second largest city, between 2001 and 2005, among numerous other leadership positions in the Government and the private sector.

 

HE. Al-Mouallimi was a member of the Shoura Council (Parliament) from 1997 to 2001, and sat on the boards of several Government organizations, including the General Organization for Military Industries.  His private-sector service included chairing the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and the Egyptian Finance Company.

 

Founder of the Dubai-based investment firm Dar al-Mouallimi Consulting Company and HBG Holdings, HE. Al-Mouallimi has a master’s degree in management from Stanford University and a bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Oregon State University.

 

He is married and has four children and three grandchildren.
