The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations in New York and head of the OIC member states to the United Nations, H.E. Ambassador / Abdallah Y. Al-Mouallimi, held an Iftar (breakfast) reception at H.E.’s residence in honor of H.E. the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Yemen, Mr. Gamal Al-Sallal, who previously served as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Yemen to the United Nations in New York. This ceremony was attended by H.E. the Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Jawad Awad, their Excellencies the ambassadors of the Arab Group to the United Nations, H.E. the Deputy Permanent Representative to the Arab League to the United Nations, H.E. the Deputy Permanent Observer of the GCC Mission to the to the United Nations, and the employees of the Saudi Mission in New York.

In his speech on this occasion, His Excellency the Permanent Representative, Abdallah Al-Mouallimi, congratulated H.E. Minister Sallal on his appointment as foreign minister; and praised H.E.’s efforts to defend the issues of Arab and Islamic nations during his country's representation to the United Nations. In addition, Ambassador Mouallimi presented a commemorative trophy to H.E. Minister Sallal. Moreover, the Arab ambassadors expressed their gratitude to H.E. Minister Sallal for his efforts and cooperation with the ambassadors of the Arab-Islamic Group during his tenure as a representative of his country to the United Nations benefiting both the Arab and Islamic nations; and wished him every success in his new position.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has issued a directive to provide the Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza with SR 200 million.

In a press statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Finance Minister Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf said that the directive has allocated this amount for immediate needs of medicines and medical equipment and supplies necessary to treat the victims of the Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip which claimed the lives of thousands of innocent children, women, elderly and people of special needs.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Chairman of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Group, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Mouallimi, held in New York iftar banquet in honor of His Excellency the Minister of Economy and Planning, Dr. Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Jasserwho is currently in New York to represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the high-level Development Cooperation Forum (DCF) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

On this occasion Ambassador, Al-Mouallimi delivered a speech in which he welcomed His Excellency the Minister, attended this occasion Saudi Consul General in New York, Khaled Al-Sharif and President of the Office of Saudi Aramco in North America Eng. Abdulmohsen Al-Mikhailed and some Saudi businessmen and Employees Permanent Delegation of the Kingdom in New York .

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is coordinating with representatives of Arab and Islamic countries and representatives of Non-Aligned Movement to adopt the stances of the Palestinian delegation at the United Nations (UN) which call for ending Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and stopping the ongoing Israeli killing machine.
In an interview with Al-Arabiya TV Channel yesterday, Saudi Arabia's Representative to the United Nations Abdullah Al-Mouallimi said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is exerting all possible efforts to bring to calm the situation in Gaza. "The international community is responsible to compel Israel to stop this aggression," Al-Mouallimi added.
Al-Mouallimi stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supports the Palestinian government's endeavors to end Israeli aggression against Gaza.

During the conversation, they discussed the overall incidents at the regional and international arenas.

Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the United Nations and Chairman of the Group of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation OIC Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Almoalimi handed a message on behalf of the Group to the President of the UN Security Council for the current month, Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin, strongly condemning the brutal aggression carried out by Israeli occupation forces in the occupied Palestinian territories and collective punishment measures against the Palestinian people, which are carried out while the whole world is watching and listening, under the pretext of the disappearance of three Israeli settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a news conference last night at United Nations Headquarters in New York after the delivery of the message, Almoalimi said that the countries of the group demanded in its message the UN Security Council to shoulder all responsibilities in stopping the violence perpetrated by the Israeli occupying forces with condemnation of Israeli actions representing a clear violation of international law and the Geneva Convention and the resolutions of the Council of security and international norms and conventions.

He stated that the countries of the Islamic Group stressed the need for urgent and quick action by the Security Council to stop the collective punishment and stop the use of excessive force against unarmed civilians and stop the practice of arrests of Palestinians by the Israeli occupation forces.

The ceremony was attended by H.E. the Permanent Observer of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to the United Nations, Ambassador / Ufuk Gokcen, H.E. the head of the Mission of Arab League to the United Nations, Ambassador / Ahmed Fathallah, H.E. Deputy Permanent Observer of GCC to the United Nations, Mr. Yousef Alnuaif, H.E. the Managing Director of Diplomatic Missions in the U.S. State Department in New York, Mr. Thomas Gallup, their Excellencies the Ambassadors representatives of the member states of the OIC to the United Nations in New York, their Excellencies the consuls-general of the Arab countries in New York, and the employees of the Saudi Mission and consulate-general in in New York.

In his speech on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, His Excellency the Permanent Representative Abdallah Al-Mouallimi, conveyed sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and defense Minister, Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister, and Chancellor and Special Envoy of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness Prince Muqrin Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Furthermore, Ambassador Mouallimi asked God Almighty to accept the fast and good deeds of all attendees, and wished for both the Islamic and Arabic nations a blessed and prosperous Holy Month of Ramadan.

The Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations co-sponsored today a side-event on the Use of Starvation as a Weapon of War in Syria at at the United Nations. Speakers provided personal accounts of life under siege  in Syria and of the impact of the use of starvation as a weapon of war, a violation of international humanitarian law. Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, H.E Ambassador Abdallah Al-Mouallimi commented on the situation plaguing Syria and the failure of the International Community and in specific the Security Council in solving the crisis. "The Security Council issued a resolution 2139 intended to end the suffering of the besieged and ease the delivery of humanitarian assistance, but after hearing the witnesses who have spoken it is quite obvious that there is a clear violation of the resolution and lack of concrete effort by the international community. Ambassador Al-Mouallimi  added that "the international community has a responsibility to end the suffering of the Syrian people and to hold those responsible for heinous crimes against humanity accountable".
