The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations warmly welcomes the adoption of resolution “Terrorist Attacks on Internationally Protected Persons” by the United Nations General Assembly, which "deplores the plot to assassinate the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United States of America".

The Saudi-introduced resolution received strong support from member states of the United Nations. It was co-sponsored by 58 states from all regions of the world and was passed by 106 votes against 9. This resolution sends a strong message against terrorism and acts of violence for whatever purposes. The Saudi Mission reiterates that the international community should always take a clear and strong stand against violators of international law and United Nations resolutions.
